To formulate and evaluate Scopolamine in situ nasal gel using polymers.Scopolamine was first extracted from Datura metel, Solanaceae family. Extracted Scopolamine was investigated by different Pharmacognostical parameters. Scopolamine was used to prepare nasal in situ gel using polymers like Carbopol 934P and Sodium alginate. Formulated Scopolamine nasal in situ gel was evaluated by various Pharmaceutical parameters. The stability study of finished Scopolamine in situ nasal gel was done as per ICH guidelines. All the evaluation parameters or raw materials and finished product were found to be under specified limit. Scopolamine nasal in situ gel was evaluated by standardize procedure. The results of various quality control measures like Moisture content, Determination of ash; Total ash, Acid insoluble ash, water soluble ash, Alcohol soluble extractive, Water soluble extractive, Foreign matter comes under the specified limit. All ingredients used in the formulation and finish products possessed good quality and Purity. Scopolamine nasal in situ gel possess significant antimuscarinic, anesthetics, mydriatic activities and can be used safely for motion sickness.
